The Firm
The Real Estate department is recognised as a Leading Legal 500 (2024 edition) team in Commercial Property. They manage a diverse portfolio of clients across sectors such as Education, Healthcare, and Leisure, and plays a pivotal role in supporting secured lending projects and corporate banking transactions.
The Role
Due to increasing client demand, the team is expanding and seeking a lawyer with 1–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their dynamic practice. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with a solid foundation in real estate, potentially with experience in commercial concessions and contracts, particularly within the transport and warehousing sectors. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a busy caseload and deliver high-quality client service with minimal supervision. Flexibility is key, as the role will involve supporting the wider team across various workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Service: Consistently provide high levels of client service and care.
- Financial Management: Exhibit strong financial management skills, including accurate time recording, billing, and achieving firm-delivered targets.
- Business Development: Actively contribute to business development efforts, ensuring client retention and the expansion of the firm's business.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and expertise in real estate law.
- Personal Development: Take responsibility for your own personal development, including the continuous enhancement of interpersonal and soft skills.
- SRA Competence: Operate competently in accordance with SRA competence standards.
- Additional Tasks: Perform any other reasonable tasks as required to support the team.
Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant Experience: Directly relevant experience in real estate, with the appropriate level of PQE.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of commercial property law and the client’s industry.
- Financial Management: Proven track record in financial management, meeting client expectations, and effective case management.
- IT Proficiency: Confident use of IT systems, including case management systems, electronic time recording, and general Microsoft Office applications.
- Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, self-starting individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Firm Values: Ability to consistently demonstrate and embody the firm’s values.
